We sometimes do not get the recognition that we sometimes deserve for our work, but occasionally we do, as shown from a recent communication sent to us.

Dear Mr Mackenzie

I am writing to let you know how helpful your representative Elvina Ashton-King has been to me.

I had worked for the Princess Royal Hospital in Telford, but lost my job due to ill health. Elvina helped me through the whole sickness policy, making sure management went by the book.

It was she and she alone who got me a good payout at the end by making sure I was paid for holidays due during sickness (new ruling from parliament), and money in lieu of notice.

If it had not been for Elvina I would have walked away with nothing. She gave me both moral and practical support when I needed it most.
